The launch event for 'Strega Nona Does it Again' with Tomie dePaola!

09/26/2013 6:00 pm

Thursday, September 26th, 2013, 6 p.m. at Red River Theatres

Join Gibson's Bookstore in the comfort of Red River Theatres as we celebrate the launch of Tomie dePaola's newest children's book to feature his beloved character, Strega Nona! This beloved author loves fielding questions from children.

Tomie dePaola is one of only five authors to be have been awarded a Newbury Honor and a Caldecott Honor. One of the most decorated figures in children's literature today, Tomie's works have over 15 million copies in print.

This will be a ticketed event, to help pay for renting the space. Adult tickets are $5, and can be redeemed as $5 off your purchase of $15 or more at Gibson's Bookstore at or after the event. Children's tickets are $2. One free ticket (adult or child) is included with each copy of Strega Nona Does it Again from Gibson's Bookstore.

Tomie will sign any book you purchase through Gibson's, and up one book purchased elsewhere or brought in from home. We are very fortunate that he is able to sign so many books at our event! Wrist issues in the past have sometime restricted the number of books Tomie is able to sign and personalize.

Can't make the event? Call us (603-224-0562) or email us (gibsons@totalnetnh.net) to have us put a copy aside to be signed for you. Or purchase a copy from the book link below and ask us to have it signed in the "Order Comments" box.

Bookstore events for the rest of September

Tuesday, Sept. 23, 6 PM      Local author and teacher Bishop O'Connell joins us to present his new fantasy novel, The Stolen, in which faeries not only kidnap mortal children but have traded in their ancient swords and horses for modern guns and sports cars. (Note time)
Thursday, Sept. 25, 7 PM     Mike Morin, a legendary figure in New Hampshire radio history, tells us all about his over four decades on the air in Fifty Shades of Radio.  Collected from his humor columns in the Nashua Telegraph, these stories include receiving death threats and naked pictures from elderly women (we hope not in the same envelope), being buried alive, and many more.
WATCH for our email next week that will be dedicated to programs and events in October of special interest to BOOK CLUBS, TEACHERS, and FOLKS WHO READ TOO MANY BOOKS.
