The launch event for 'Strega Nona Does it Again' with Tomie dePaola!

09/26/2013 6:00 pm

Thursday, September 26th, 2013, 6 p.m. at Red River Theatres

Join Gibson's Bookstore in the comfort of Red River Theatres as we celebrate the launch of Tomie dePaola's newest children's book to feature his beloved character, Strega Nona! This beloved author loves fielding questions from children.

Tomie dePaola is one of only five authors to be have been awarded a Newbury Honor and a Caldecott Honor. One of the most decorated figures in children's literature today, Tomie's works have over 15 million copies in print.

This will be a ticketed event, to help pay for renting the space. Adult tickets are $5, and can be redeemed as $5 off your purchase of $15 or more at Gibson's Bookstore at or after the event. Children's tickets are $2. One free ticket (adult or child) is included with each copy of Strega Nona Does it Again from Gibson's Bookstore.

Tomie will sign any book you purchase through Gibson's, and up one book purchased elsewhere or brought in from home. We are very fortunate that he is able to sign so many books at our event! Wrist issues in the past have sometime restricted the number of books Tomie is able to sign and personalize.

Can't make the event? Call us (603-224-0562) or email us (gibsons@totalnetnh.net) to have us put a copy aside to be signed for you. Or purchase a copy from the book link below and ask us to have it signed in the "Order Comments" box.

Weekly newsletter, with add-on Hedrick Smith event! January 20th, 2015

Just added!
Hedrick Smith, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author of Who Stole the American Dream?, will be in the bookstore from 4:15-5:15 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21. He's in the state to help get money out of politics and inspire regular folks to get in.  We're hosting him right after he appears at the Capitol Center.  Please join us for a fascinating conversation and booksigning.
Open microphone!
This month's meeting of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire is open to all and this month it is purely open mic. Do you have a poem in your pocket? Would you like to nominate a new state poem? Whatever your pleasure, come on down, to read or just to listen. That's Wed., Jan. 21, at 7 PM.
(By the way, we don't think NH should have a "state poem" unless it's by Robert Frost, and honestly not even then.)
